Bryce Canyon

What a gorgeous day!  We walked the Queens Garden/Navajo Loop trail.  Yes, it is the most popular walk in the park and, yes, there were lots of others walking it.  But as we descended farther into the canyon we heard less people sounds and more natural canyon sounds.  And the views were spectacular!  Easily one of the most beautiful walks we have ever taken.  We will let our photos tell the story.  The circle begins on a trail following the rim...

Could this be one of the mysterious and elusive Walking Trees of Bryce Canyon?
Then descends down through the hoodoos into the canyon...

The sweetest Hoodoo I have ever met

To the Queen's Garden...

Can you see the silhouette of the Queen?
We pick up the Navajo Loop Trail and follow a creek through open forest...

Until the long climb back to the top between the towering walls of a slot canyon, and up many many switchbacks...

Switchbacks all the way to the top
We just weren't ready to quit for the day so we walked along the rim and, of course, took more photos...

The last time we were at Bryce was 10 years ago, right after a late-season snowstorm dumped such a snowpack that we could do nothing but look down into the canyon. It was beautiful with the snow, but very disappointing. This day made up for that. We loved being able to walk through such a fantastic landscape full of vibrant color and wonderfully weird shapes.

Quite worn out, we enjoyed a simple dinner back in our little cabin.

But the excitement may just be beginning!--- The sign out front promises "Live Country Music Tonight!"  Dang! Are we looking forward to enduring live country music late into the night tonight! (How do you say, "NOT!" when you're speaking in Country???)
